RSFF: Tuesday August 18: SeafollyAug 22, 2009

Being Married to Todd Arndt Hair Director of Both Fashion week and Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival I thought it would be great to share some posts of hair at some of last weeks shows. Here is Redken Director Carl Reeves work at SEAFOLLY

Hair at the Seafolly show was all about relaxed beach-chic. “I wanted to create hair that was more like sexy beach hair rather than hair that looks too disheveled. The look is more glamorous as well as being versatile and low maintenance. You could wear this look on the streets of New York to the beaches on the Sunshine Coast- its easy and sexy,” says Carl Reeves, Hair Director for Redken. Hair was parted in the middle with cascading, bouncy waves framing the face and resting on the shoulders. With plenty of body, shine and movement, the look was finished off with thin plaits at either side of the face or adorned with feathered headbands.

Introducing Hopeless HotelAug 05, 2009

Introducing a label Dita Von Teese would be proud to wear....Hopeless Hotel made right here in Australia! Absolutely in love with this sweet collection!

Hopeless Hotel is a couture lingerie company owned and operated by sisters Gabrielle and Dominique Adamidis since 2006. All pieces are designed and hand-made in Melbourne using pure silk and other natural fabrics. Hopeless creates high quality women’s underwear and sleepwear inspired by feminine beauties of all eras. Each piece is designed to evoke the feeling of being in a faraway dream world. The designs are dreamy and luxurious, with a young spirit and positive attitude. All pieces feature adjustable elements to fit and flatter an array of figures, as Hopeless hopes to promote a positive and healthy view of women and their bodies.

So Absolutely excited about receiving this award from Daydreamlily. Liss Winnel's blog is nothing short of divine and fast becoming one of the most read in Australia. SO you can only imagine how absolutely thrilled I was to receive this award after only blogging for a few months.

As many of you know My Style Australia was going to be set up as a website and Liss had written a post for the old site! However due to my absolute love of blogging and need to enlist the help of one serious WORDPRESS genius (in particular help with installing GOOGLE FRIENDS) the site is on hold for the time being! So please enjoy one of the old posts written by my friend DAYDREAMLILY

There is no denying I have a huge girl crush on Natasha Khan aka Bat For Lashes. I recently purchased a copy of Dazed & Confused magazine for the sole purpose of her being on the cover. In fact I purchase any magazine that has any mention of her. About a month back when I was scouring the internet trying to find any leaks of her up coming album release I came across a promo video she did for Two Suns. The video was much like a movie trailer with footage of Natasha in the desert and backing tracks of her new songs. To me this was pure genius, why don't more musicians make trailers of their up coming albums? I guess this shows exactly what it is I love about this musician, she is unique, beautiful and not afraid to express herself and do something that isn't the norm in the industry. Not to mention her amazing style!! Now to get her to come to Australia....

On holidays with Lime Drop SS 09/10Jul 27, 2009

Limedrop’s Spring Summer collections takes you on a journey to places you’ve never been by capturing a nomadic spirit and delivering a chic casual story intended for summer holidays. The men’s and women’s wear is a collection that combines softness, transparency, functionality and playfulness to deliver a relaxed, retro prep style. A modern, sporty palette of peach, tangerine, grey and indigo marles is coupled with luxurious linens, featherweight cottons and pearl metallics. Sheer summer dresses, fluid boleros, drawstring blouses, pleated funnel leg pants and devore bodysuits for women. Softened jackets, smart chinos and clean bermudas for men. The ‘Places I’ve Never Been’ collection embraces unrealised travel dreams and suggests you don’t need to travel to be on holidays. Love the Collection!

Balenciaga Launch at Jean BrownJul 27, 2009

Recently I was very lucky to attend the launch of Balenciaga at Jean Brown (Jean Brown, Shop 62 Emporium, 1000 Ann Street, Fortitude Valley /Australia)! Such an amazing night: the bags, clutches, fashion and ohhhh THE SHOES!!!! I love the Cone Heel Peep Toes!!! You can actually view the Balenciaga Lookbook online at Jean Brown and place a mail order.

Artist Michael Zavros collaborated with Jean Brown to create a series of drawings for the launch. The detail in his work as you can see is truly stunning! Whilst viewing the collection I had to question myself as to whether I was looking at a photograph or drawing.

Included in this post are You tube videos of Michael Zavros at work and the Balenciaga Launch.

When you view beautiful pieces such as Balenciaga in real life it becomes more apparent that fashion is absolute artform- how it is crafted and worn!

Well done Jean Brown on a perfect collaboration!
